VISION AND MISSION STATEMENT

OUR MISSION

The mission of The Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostles’ Doctrine (Mobile, AL) is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, exalt our Savior, evangelize the world, and guide humanity out of darkness, Scripture, Chapter and Verse, into His marvelous light.

VISION STATEMENT

Our vision is to see humanity inspired by the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ, to believe what they read, search the scriptures for themselves, and align their lives with God’s eternal Word.

OUR BELIEFS

And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. Acts 2:42

GODHEAD

There is only one God. But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.” (I Corinthians 8:6)

Jesus, the Son of God, came down from heaven as the Word. According to the scriptures, the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. (John 1:14) The Word that came down from heaven inherited the same name as the Father which is Jesus. Jesus was put to death in the flesh, rose (flesh and bones) ascended into heaven, and is on the right hand of God and lives by the power of God. Jesus, the Son of God, is coming back for the church.

SALVATION

You must hear and believe the gospel of Jesus Christ, which consist of His death, burial, and resurrection. To obtain salvation, you must repent of your sins, be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, (by a Believer of the Son of God, Jesus Christ) and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues as the spirit give utterance, continue steadfast in the apostles’ doctrine, living according to the scriptures. (Acts 2:36-41)

WATER BAPTISM

After the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ on the day of Pentecost, the question was asked, Men and brethren what shall we do? Peter instructed them. Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:38)

According to the scripture, water baptism is executed by immersion in water. Therefore, we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. (Romans 6:4). And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: (Mark 1:10)

And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. (Acts 8:38-39)

BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST/HOLY SPIRIT

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. (Acts 2:38-39) The Holy Ghost comes to dwell in the hearts of all that believe and obey the gospel of Jesus Christ. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. (Luke 24:49)

The gift of the Holy Ghost is the birth of the Spirit. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. (John 3:5)

According to scripture, the evidence of receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost is speaking in tongues as the spirit gives utterance. (Acts 2:4)

DIVORCE AND REMARRIAGE

The scriptures states, And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. (1 Corinthians 7:10-11) Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery. (Luke 16:18) But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. (Matthew 5:32) According to what’s written, you are bound to your first spouse as long as they live. The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 7:39)

HEAD COVERING

The scripture teaches us that every woman must have her head covered when praying or prophesying. Every man must have his head uncovered when praying or prophesying. Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. (1Corinthians 11:4-7)

WOMEN PREACHERS

There are many roles and duties that women in scripture fulfilled. Miriam led the women with tibrels, dancing, singing and praising God! (Exodus 15:20-21) Deborah judged Israel and was identified as a prophetess. And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time. (Judges 4:4) The scriptures also instruct the aged women who to teach and what to teach. The aged women, likewise, that they be in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. (Titus 2:3-5)

There is NO scripture to support or justify women preachers. God has not sent or called women to preach and never will. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. (1Timothy 2:12)

MINISTERING

Ministering the gospel of Jesus Christ is a serious assignment and must not be taken likely. Any man in the pulpit must have the gift from God, not just a zeal. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teaches, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. (Romans 12:6-8)

The gift will manifest when he speaks. And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! (Romans 10:15)

APOSTLESHIP

To be recognized as a true Apostle of Jesus Christ, a man must have the same power and authority as the apostles in the scripture. The scriptures clearly outline the power the apostles had and operated in. And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. (Acts 2:43) And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch. (Acts 5:12). Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber. And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them. Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper

chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them. But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up. And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive. (Acts 9:36-41) And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them. (Acts 19:11-12)

. Having the title “Apostle” does not make one a God sent apostle. The scriptures say it best, we know them by their fruit. (Matthew 7:15-16)

JESUS CHRIST IS THE SON OF GOD

We firmly believe, teach, and proclaim that JESUS CHRIST IS THE SON OF GOD, the Father, he is alive, and is on the right hand of God. The SON OF GOD LIVES!

And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven. (Luke 24:50-51)

For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. (John 16:27-28)

For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. (John 5:22-23)

Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. (Romans 8:34)

The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. (Mark 1:1)

He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 16:15-17)

Church History

Minister Kendrick Murray served in an organization as local minister and teacher for about twelve years. Unreconcilable differences and unresolved biblical disagreements led to Minister Murray’s resignation and disaffiliation with that organization.

After leaving the organization in 2005, Minister Murray and approximately twenty likeminded Believers began having Bible Study in Minister Murray’s home. After a period of time, Minister Murray became tired, and burned out, he stopped ministering for about 5 months. As time passed, God pricked Minister Murray’s heart through an Elder. The Elder reminded him of how God was blessing him, his family, his business, and all he set his hands to do. The Elder communicated to Minister Murray that he was refusing to look after a few of God’s sheep.

After much prayer, meditation and direction from the Lord, Minister Murray resumed teaching at the Holiday Inn Conference Center on Hwy 90. Service was held there for a few months. In 2006, a storefront building on Springhill Avenue was rented, there we worshipped for approximately 3 years.

The Lord continued to deal with Minister Murray before he yielded to the call of God for the next phase of ministry he was chosen to lead. God began to show Minister Murray all the blessings He had bestowed upon him, both spiritually and naturally. How could he refuse the calling of God, teaching the people of God, and ordination? After accepting the call, Pastor Murray was ordained Elder February 22, 2009. After the ordination of Elder Murray, The Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostles’ Doctrine (Mobile, AL) had its humble beginnings and Elder Murray became pastor. God began to stir up the gift that was in him and began to reveal that Jesus is the Son of God and he is alive! The knowledge and wisdom of the scriptures increased and accompanied the anointing on Pastor Murray’s life.

As the Lord continued to bless the ministry and membership grew, the Lord blessed the young, growing congregation to purchase a building and property located at 2764 Mauvilla Drive where the church continued to flourish for 6 years. There, the Lord moved mightily, souls were baptized, many souls received the Holy Ghost, and the ministry continued to grow and prospered. Eventually, we outgrew this building and purchased property to build.

During this process, Pastor Murray prayed asking God to give us a building as soon as possible, there was not time to go through the building process. The Lord allowed Pastor Murray to find a vacant college online on Pleasant Valley Road. He drove to the location one rainy evening. In the rain, he began to walk around the building praying, asking God to give us this facility. A police officer was parked on the property, he stayed in his car and watched as Pastor Murray continued to walk and pray around and around the facility. In April 2015, the Lord answered his prayer!

The Lord allowed the church to acquire the 7,500+ square feet property located at 3550 Pleasant Valley Road, Mobile, AL. With the vision of our pastor, and the people of God with a mind to work, this facility was transformed and renovated to a beautiful, spacious, temple with room to grow. A few years later, Pastor Murray saw the need for an area for our youth. A fully functional youth activity space was added for our youth to enjoy.

God has tremendously blessed this ministry with multiple auxiliaries, out-reach ministries, and departments as well as a national and international outreach television broadcast Son of God Lives with Pastor Kendrick Murray, as well as a national and international broadcast. Our transportation ministry has been blessed with a state-of-the art customized bus to transport the saints across the country on the many road trips as well as vans to transport those in need of transportation to and from the temple.

Under the thriving ministry of Pastor Murray, many souls locally, nationally, and internationally have been blessed by the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Many have been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, by a Believer in the Son of God, and some have received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost. We receive many testimonials and countless emails and calls of how the message, Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and he is alive has transformed their lives and how being affiliated with this ministry has brought them liberty and a deeper knowledge of the scriptures. As we are taught, we “Believe what we read, Scripture, Chapter and Verse!”
The work is growing exponentially at a rapid pace here, across the country, and internationally. We are excited to see how the ministry continues to grow, and flourish. We look forward to dedicating additional temples across the country and internationally, God willing.

We are humbled by the grace and favor of God that has been bestowed upon us. We can truly say, this is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our sight! To God be all the glory.
